 DNA sequence translation

This page provides an interface to a program for identification of open reading frames in DNA sequences. Please read theinformation about how to select a query and certain important translation features. The program was designed for very large finished sequences from the genome projects and some changes to the default parameters will be needed for short queries. After the ORFs are identified, there are three types of reports:

  • Translation into fasta format
  • Codon usage for each ORF
  • Codon adaptation index calculations (Yeast or E. coli)

Codon Adaption Index calculations are based on Sharp and Li, Nucleic Acids Research15 1281-1295, 1987 (Abstract).

Query type:

Genbank locus or sequence name:(try YSAADE1)

Enter raw sequence below:

Region of query sequence: to(0 defaults to full sequence)

Min ORF size (aa)

Genetic code

Start codon

ORF set (all or non-overlapping)

Ambiguous position (randomize or skip)

Output mode (Translation, Usage Table, or CAI)

Sekwencję nukleotydową do translacji należy skopiowac (copy-paste) do rubryki zatytułowanej - "Enter raw sequence below".
Jeśli sekwencja do analizy znajduje się w GENBANKu, to wystarczy wprowadzić jej numer identyfikacyjny (ID).
